No point as serverways has already ceased to exist (they sold their VPS business to a New Zealand hosting company).

I have no issues with this review and thought it was well written overall. While it's not unexpected to be totally capped at these price ranges I did not see anywhere on their website that there was no swap space/burst ram. But at that price you can't expect much. I love people that take the time to bag on others reviews but never take their own time to review anything. How about limiting yourselves to constructive comments?

You was offered 100MHz Guaranteed CPU, and you got it, just because there is no burstable, why are you complaining?

The VPS was not of a high enough spec to host websites on. PHP/MySQL based at that, you should have looked at the specifications closer.

Plus, I have to disagree, most developers wont need burstable CPU as their program/script wont be live (Not talking about testing here), paying $5/month can get you a VPS to host a website on, yes, but it's going to have drawbacks due to the specifications, even if that is in terms of reliability of the network, or node, using older hardware, can cause problems in regards to failures, which could cause major downtime.

Overall - Its for DEVELOPMENT, in which case, you EXPECT delays, as its a SINGLE or SMALL GROUP of people using it.

@Richard --

Go back under your bridge - you obviously need to learn more, like some common sense? :)

Common sense #1 -- A developer still needs good amount of burstable CPU time. It is like arguing 1mbps unmetered bandwidth verses 50GB/month transfer at 10mbps -- a developer will definitely pick the later because while his application might not need a large amount of data transfer throughout the month, when you need the fat pipe to transfer something, YOU JUST NEED IT! Developing anything on a VPS where cpulimit is set to 4% of a single core is PITA.

Common sense #2 -- LxAdmin on CentOS is available on this package, with plenty of memory and diskspace spare. And guess what, it is a control panel for hosting websites.

Common sense #3 -- you can host dynamic websites on a 5 bucks VPS, and the speed does not need to suck. In fact a few days later I got myself another $5/month VPS from somewhere else (a 64MB Xen VPS), and my little project is happily living on that.

I have to admit - You was silly for even trying that package to host a website, It is meant to be for small application developers (I am not with ServerWays).

This bad review is void in my eyes due to the short sightedness of the user (you), as you may know the terms, but you have no idea of the practicality.

Go back to school - You obviously need to learn more, like some common sense?

I check their site, and for 20 dls a month you can get 900 mhz and 900 MB of RAM, by any luck do you know another host that for 20 dls will wive you 512 mb of RAM at least and more CPU power. Yes they are cheap inded, in case you know another VPS provider with a better deal, can you talk about them or post their site link.
