Then you should grab an OpenDNS account, where you can set up behaviour to NSDOMAIN when queries come from your IP range.

How long did it take gplhost to fix their dns problems? Yes
I don’t think I’ll be looking elsewhere for an AU VPS yet. I prepaid for a few month, and I am still yet to see an affordable Xen provider here on the East coast.

I personally don’t think it is acceptable, as you can argue a fast and working recursive DNS should be part of the hosting package, like network availability. However this issue can be easily overcome by the admin of the VPS by querying public DNS servers.

I don't like opendns. If a domain doesn't exist it resolve to one of their adresses. This affects my email filter which verify if the sender's domain exists to mark it as spam. With opendns this cannot work because all domains exist!
