Godaddy was a good hosting in early years, but now is limited at all, for example limited space for an email max 100mb, if you need more, you must buy another email plan, is restricted to just send 250 emails per day, 250 its ok for personal use, but for small business use???, i dont think so, databases is restricted to 10 db, they give you "free gifts", like group calendar, hosting for your domain, photoalbum, but they put godaddy advertising in your calendar, so its not free at all.

I am a godaddy customer. I have a few dedicated servers. There's so many things wrong with this statement

1) Yes, you are initially limited to 1000 emails per day on your dedicated server. It's incredibly difficult to fix this. You .. oh my god.. submit a trouble ticket and ask for more relays. It's an anti-spam measure.

2) Every time I call godaddy, I get an answer within 10 minutes. Most of the time when I dial, someone just picks right up after I go through the system to pick "sales" or "support" - I do call at night, so this may not be true if you're calling at 11am on a monday. I've NEVER had to wait 24 hours for an answer to a problem, even when I accidentally killed one of my servers, they had it back up in 2 hrs

3) I've canceled and had refunded hosting plans, email plans, ssls, and dedicated servers. Never had a problem.

4) You seem to have a personal grudge against godaddy. Are you maybe an ex employee? GoDaddy isn't outsourced in any way. Call them. Ask them. They are in phoenix.

I have been a proud and not-so-proud customer of GoDaddy hosting and registrar services for about 6 years now. Here is what I think...

To spite the GoDaddy rules, I do what I want and nobody from support has contacted me about it. I think those rules are mainly there to be able to enforce a reasonable rule of law.. if someone is sending spam from a dedicated server, it's still their problem, so they have a way to give you the boot if they needed to.

As for off-site backups... I'de say that's one of my top reasons for using them. It works great and it's sooooo much cheaper than the bloated commercial crap that is out there. And for most people it doesn't even begin to overload their system. I've known people who stored their entire mp3 and divx collection on there... I'm sure that taxed their resources "unreasonably".

Their My Account area sucks, but the tools you access from the My Account area are absolutely amazing. It makes me dizzy with marketing crap they try to throw at you once you are in your own account. All the colors and excessive layers of navigation make it a real pain in the arse to get familiar with, but their web-based tools and utilities are excellent!!! That's probably another big reason I stay with them. I dred every time I login though.. that My Account area should be shot. If they want to sell me, sell me on ease of use, not force of hand. That's never going to win me over.

Also, perfomance sucks in the early hours of the morning EDT. I assume they are backing up their systems around that time. It's a real pill if you wake up early to do something.

The worst website hosting is Godaddy. Their hosting services are the complete opposite of their registrar services. They have very unusual restrictions in plans (like a limit of 1000 e-mails sent per day in a DEDICATED SERVER, lol). These restrictions are hidden in it's "sales technics". The support is very slow, take more than 24 hours to answer questions. No guarantee, no refundable, no respect, no shame to provice a deficient service. They win money with it's hosting services lying to customers. It's probabbly an outsourced service. Terrible. Flee from its host services!!

Oops - no more IPO for GoDaddy, it seems. They pulled the plug yesterday because with "escalating hostilities throughout the Middle East and skyrocketing oil price", the timing's just not right.
